i’m really excited about taking auditions for beast and lottie though i know our first and only original lottie will be greatly missed. i tried to hold out as long as possible in the hopes that she would return but it seems she’s left her account. a new lottie will have big shoes to fill. she was brilliant. we will miss you SO much lottie.

~ AUDITION INFO ~

If you see a character that requires a “Starter” or an “Audition” this is what we’re looking for.

1st. We want someone who is going to be an active Roleplayer. Usually the roles that we have this requirement are Princesses or very popular “wanted” characters. So you should check your acct at least every few days if not more. We understand that sometimes RL gets in the way of RP but you shouldn’t disappear for weeks at a time when you have a role that lots of other people would love to be actively rping.

2nd. This is YOUR chance to show us what kind of a roleplayer you are-or the kind that you want to be. Be exciting! Grab our attention! You might just have some competition when it comes to the role! Make your paragraph stand out!

3rd. We’re looking for a roleplayer that knows the character well and has good grammar and rp/writing skills. Experience is definitely not necessary but it is helpful.

Queen’s Audition:

With the evening settling in, and a slight chill in the air the Queen watches peacefully from the balcony as the two love birds walk hand in hand in the courtyard below.  She smiles inwardly at their youth and the innocent way that Rapunzel grabs Eugene’s hand to lead him down the cobbled path.  So young, their whole lives ahead of them.  She recalls the day her own prince charming proposed to her on these very grounds.  A nostalgic sigh escapes her when she notices that she too is being watched.  “I may not be able to see you, Nicholas, but I know when you’re spying on me.”  Turning, she smiles warmly at her husband.

King’s Audition:

lacing a hand on the small of her back, the King joins his beloved on the stone terrace. Glancing down, he notices that the couple has moved off the path and he watches as Eugene picks Rapunzel up by the waist and places her gently onto the edge of the fountain. Rapunzel takes a handful of spraying water and playfully splashes it at Eugene. “Spying is only spying when one doesn’t know that they are being watched.” He chuckles to himself, fully aware of his wife’s keen ear and his own heavy steps. “Isn’t it funny, to think we had lost a daughter, just to find her again and gain a son in the process…” He takes his wife’s small hand and holds it tight in his own, and the Queen exhales softly and leans into him.  A broad smile suddenly spreads across his face. “…a son who is now thoroughly exploring the contents of our daughter’s corset.”  He finds his wife’s eyes have grown wide and are now blazing with motherly concern.  “Now Catarina, let them be, they’re only children…”

Now its okay if you can’t plan your audition together the way that the Queen and King did for theirs. Here are a few that you can look at for more of an independent/on your own approach.

The hot cup of hot chocolate was almost burning her fingers, but only just. She had made it too hot again and rather than burning her tongue, the sticky and burning sensation that kept her tongue plastered to the roof of her mouth and would bother Ariel for days, she simply allowed the cup to rest between her legs, careful to wrap it with some of her dress and not let it touch her skin—she had already learned that lesson too. 

As a human, Ariel felt more fragile than she had as a mermaid. There were more than one way to harm oneself; the simplicity of a hot cup could redden her skin, make it hard and brittle from bubbles. The sun could kiss her skin and then do the same as the cup; burn the bridge of her nose, the tips of her shoulders. Humans could die so easily. They could drown. They could fall from cliffs. They could bleed their red blood and soak their clothes. Merpeople could live for a great many years, and with their more slightly harden skin, it was harder to penetrate; harder to die. They were made to withstand the current of the waters, to avoid being eaten by other fish, though, at their natural deaths, they returned to the sea as sea foam, disappearing forever. Ariel tried to imagine a life where she, at her death, would disappear into nothingness. Who would miss her? Who would know her story? What would they say about her? She glanced out the window, out at the snow that dusted the ground. Ariel hadn’t had the chance to play out in the white wetness, but she did enjoy watching her friends.

We really hope that this answers a few of your questions. We’re looking for something that will stick out. Whether your auditioning for a Fairy, a Knight in Shining Armor, a Princess or a Villian, have fun with what you’re writing!
